Dhaka, Nov 19 (Agency) ‘Benapole Express’ train will be re-launched on the Dhaka-Benapole route from December 2 after being closed for a year and a half due to the outbreak of the Corona epidemic. Master Saiduzzaman of Benapole railway station confirmed the matter on Friday (November 19) morning. He said the train would run as usual on other days of the week except Tuesday as before. Currently there are certain rules for travel between the two countries. About one thousand to twelve hundred passengers are traveling between India and Bangladesh every day through Benapole-Petrapole checkpost.
At present 90 percent of the passengers are patients, 6 percent are businessmen and 3 percent are students. All these passengers are suffering due to lack of train. A reliable source has confirmed that the Indian government will also issue tourist visas soon. Then almost every day 8-10 thousand passport passengers will travel on this route. Most of them travel on this route from different parts of the country. It takes a long time to travel from Benapole to Dhaka by bus or other means of transportation. From Benapole, Dhaka can be reached in seven hours by train. The train leaves Benapole at 1300 hours and Kamalapur in Dhaka at 1330 hours every day except Tuesday. Passengers traveling from Bangladesh to Kolkata will get relief if Benapole Express is launched. Notably, Benapole Express train is a big bridge between India and Bangladesh.
