New Delhi, Dec 30 (FN Bureau) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy held a comprehensive meeting with representatives of the Telugu Film Industry on Friday to address their concerns and discuss strategies for its development. The meeting facilitated an open exchange of ideas, clarifying misconceptions and fostering mutual understanding between the government and the industry. During the discussions, the film industry representatives highlighted various challenges they face and sought government intervention. In response, the Chief Minister outlined a series of measures aimed at supporting the industry. Special orders were issued for eight films, and police grounds were allocated for the production of Pushpa 2, demonstrating the government’s willingness to facilitate projects, an official statement said,.The Chief Minister emphasised the government’s commitment to creating a global brand image for the Telugu Film Industry, equating its importance with that of the IT and Pharma sectors. He announced the institution of the Gaddar Film Awards and the appointment of renowned producer Dil Raju as the Chairman of the Film Development Corporation (FDC) to serve as a liaison between the government and the industry.Additionally, a Cabinet Sub-Committee will be constituted to address the industry’s challenges, while the industry itself will form a committee to collaborate with the government. Highlighting Hyderabad’s strategic advantages, the Chief Minister noted that its central location allows film crews and actors to reach the city within two hours after completing shoots. He urged the industry to promote eco-tourism and temple tourism, leveraging the city’s cosmopolitan appeal to attract Bollywood and Hollywood productions.
Plans are underway to host major conferences to draw other film industries to Hyderabad and solidify its status as a global cinema hub.The government has also prioritised skill development and employment generation. The establishment of the Young India Skills University and Advanced Technology Centers aims to equip youth with advanced skills and create job opportunities. Furthermore, the government is planning a Sports University to help India achieve greater success in the Olympics. The Chief Minister appealed to the film industry to take an active role in educating the public on pressing societal issues such as drug abuse and substance addiction. He stressed the industry’s responsibility to raise awareness and contribute to social progress. Reaffirming the government’s dedication to the growth of the Telugu Film Industry, the Chief Minister highlighted the foundation laid by previous Congress governments. He assured that the current administration would build on this legacy to take the industry to new heights. “Our vision is to elevate the film industry beyond language barriers and establish Hyderabad as a global cinema hub. The government is ready to extend all necessary support to achieve this goal,” he stated. The Chief Minister called for collective efforts to ensure the inclusive and sustainable development of the industry while adhering to laws and regulations.
