Mumbai, Sep 2 (Agency) Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16 will put the spotlight on Shreem Sharma, an aspiring contestant from Moga, Punjab, on Tuesday on Sony Entertainment Television as he fulfils his mother’s dream of sitting on the hot seat facing Amitabh Bachchan.Driven by his mother’s enduring fascination with Kaun Banega Crorepati, Shreem Sharma, an astrologer, has made it his quest to turn her dream into a reality. Determined to reach the hot seat, Shreem undertook a vow of fasting, guided by his belief that to gain something significant, one must be willing to sacrifice something of value. And in a heartwarming moment on the show, host Amitabh Bachchan offers Shreem his favorite dessert, ‘rasmalai’, to help him break his fast. Shreem comes from a family deeply rooted in astrology, with his father and other family members practicing the craft. Although he once had a promising future in cricket, an injury changed his path, leading him to pursue travel vlogging. Outside of his trade as an astrologer, Shreem finds solace in the mountains, enjoying small treks, and listening to music.
On the show, Shreem also shares his deep emotional connection to the film Kalki, which is now his favourite movie, expressing his admiration for AB’s performance and the film’s poignant scenes. Speaking about his journey to the show, Shreem said, “My mother, a die-hard fan of the show, often asks me to come home soon so we can watch Kaun Banega Crorepati together, inviting me to play along. To honour her dream, I undertook a rigorous 97-day fast, consuming only fruit from the moment I received the call to appear on the show until I sat on the hot seat. I greatly admire Amitabh Bachchanji’s charismatic presence, which makes me feel like he is a part of the family and I am truly grateful to have had this opportunity to fulfil my mother’s dream.”
