Noted Odia film producer, director Ghanashyam Mohapatra to receive prestigious Jayadev Samman

Bhubaneswar, Nov 5 (FN Representative) Eminent Odia film Producer and Director Ghanashyam Mohapatra will receive the prestigious Shri Jayadeva Samman, the highest award in Odia film industry for the year 2019. Instituted by the Odia Language, literature and Culture department the award is given every year to a person for lifetime contribution for the enrichment of Odia cinema.The award carries a cash award of Rs two lakh, a citation and shawl. Odia Language, literature and Culture Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi announced the names of the awardees for 31st state Odia Film Fare award and 8th Odia Telefilm award for 2019 at a press conference here today. Kalira Atita , a film produced by Nilamadhab Panda, bagged the Mohan Sundar Deb Goswami award, given for the best picture .

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a citation. Awards in 25 other categories were also announced with cash prizes from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000. Nilamadhab Panda bagged the best Director award for the film Kalira Atita and Saroj Panda was nominated as the best actor for his role in Khushi while Kavya Kiran was honoured with the best actress award for Khushi. Babu Babhaijan bagged five awards ,the highest, Khushi and Salabudhar Badala have received four awards each. Late Kapileswar Mohapatra, was awarded for the best story for Salabudhar Badala, the best music director award went to Baidyanath Das for the film Nayakar na Devdas. Tribhuvan Panda was honoured with the best comedian award for Golmaal, and Aishwarya Mishra as best child artist award for her role in Khushi. Similarly awards in 20 categories for Odia Tele film fare award were announced. Kalia Karuchhi Lila bagged the best telefilm award. The film also got five other awards— the best producer (Debasis Patra), best director (Dr Ashwini Gandaki), best actor (Debasis Patra), best supporting actor (Jiban Panda) and best editing (Chandra Sekhar Mishra).

“Rangila Bohu “received five awards— best actress (Lipsa Mishra), best supporting actress (Madhusita Pradhan), best supporting actress negative role ( Ushasi Mishra), best comedian ( Shankarsan Pradhan), best child artist (Prasidhi Naik). “Sargam” was declared as the best tele serial and bagged three other awards—best sound recordist (Abhimanyu Behera),best dialogue writer (Bijay Malla), best supporting actor negative role (Suresh Mishra) and best director (Chandi Parija). The awardees for films were selected by a seven member jury chaired by eminent cinematographer Surendra Sahu. The awardees for the tele film and tele serials were selected by a five member jury chaired by retired IAS officer Rabi Narayan Senapati.
