Mumbai, April 29 (Agency) Ace Indian cricketer Mithali Raj’s biopic titled ‘Shabaash Mithu’ starring Tapasee Pannu is all set to hit the silver screens on July 15. Taking to Twitter, Mithali shared a poster of a film with a caption: “There is nothing more powerful than a girl with a dream! This is a story of one such girl who chased her dream with a bat and changed the “Gentleman’s Game” forever… #ShabaashMithu The Unheard Story Of Women In Blue will be in cinemas on 15th July 2022.”
The film, directed by Srijit Mukherji and written by Priya Aven, will be narrating Mithali’s journey from an 8 year old girl to becoming a cricketing legend. In a career spanning more than two decades, Mithali scored of 7 consecutive half-century in ODIs. She holds the world record for most matches captained in the ICC Women’s World Cup as she has led the country in 24 World Cup games, claiming 14 victories, 8 losses and one no result. In the 2022, she became the first woman to appear in six ODI World Cups and only the third cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar and Javed Miandad.
