Govt allows hike in rates for spl shows of Prabhas starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD

New Delhi, Jun 24 (Agency) The Telangana government has issued orders allowing makers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ to enhance rates of entry tickets and also allow screening of special shows. Kalki 2898 AD was initially scheduled to release on May nine but was postponed due to the 2024 general election. It is now slated for a worldwide theatrical release on June 27, in IMAX, 3D, and various other film formats. According to a government order issued on Sunday, the filmmakers are permitted to screen a sixth show (special show) at 0530 hours on the release day, with an enhanced rate of Rs 200 (inclusive of GST).Additionally, the movie will be screened five times a day for the first eight days, from June 27 to July four, in all theatres where it is released.For regular shows, the government has granted a special hike of Rs 75 in single screens and Rs 100 in multiplexes across the state for this period.

For the special sixth show on opening day, ticket prices will be Rs 495 in multiplexes and Rs 377 in single screens, also exclusive of 3D charges.Kalki 2898 AD is an upcoming 2024 Indian epic dystopian science fiction action film written and directed by Nag Ashwin. Produced by C Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, it was shot primarily in Telugu with some scenes re-shot in Hindi.Inspired by Hindu scriptures, the film is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in the year 2898 AD. The film features Prabhas in the lead role with an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and Brahmanandam in prominent roles. Made on a Rs 600 crore (USD 72 million) production budget, Kalki is one of the most expensive Indian films.
