Udaipur, Sep 16 (Agency) Mukesh Madhvani, a line producer, has strongly put forth the demand for setting up a film city in Udaipur, the city of lakes in Rajasthan. Madhwani placed this demand before the Union Minister of State for Tourism, Ajay Bhatt, who was presiding over the Stakeholders Consultation Meeting of the Department of Tourism in Udaipur on Friday. On this, Joint Director (Investment) of the Directorate of Tourism, Dr. Punita Singh, asked Collector Anandi to examine the availability of 300 bighas of land and the demand for a budget of Rs 100 crore for the film city in Udaipur and submit a comment.
In this context, the second letter has also been issued by the Government Secretary of the Department of Art, Literature, Culture, and Archaeology to the Tourism Department, Jaipur. Madhvani, in his demand, apprised the Minister that Udaipur has a lot of potential in terms of cinema, where many films, ads, and music albums, among others, are shot every year. “In such a situation, if the film city is established in Udaipur, then tourism will get a boost here. Also, regional talents will get a platform to showcase their skills, and the doors of employment will also open.
