BRS first public meeting at Khammam is a pre-release function of film : BJP

Hyderabad/New Delhi, Jan 19 (Representative) BJP Telangana Unit President Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday said the first public meeting of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) held at Khammam on Wednesday reminds one of an utter flop show of the pre-release function of a film. Speaking to media persons in New Delhi, Sanjay said the BRS leaders desperately made a futile attempt to mobilise crowds by paying them money and intimidating many others and show it as a grand success. He alleged that BRS Supremo and Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao had managed to bring the so-called National leaders by allegedly paying them money looted through liquor scam. Yet, no leader, who comes to KCR once will not like to entertain him again, he said that the former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy hasn’t come to see him again and skipped this meeting and similarly Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar too. The BJP MP said that “ those who attended the Khammam meeting will not be visible again.” Sanjay charged KCR with taking the three Chief Ministers to Yadadri temple only to show how he is doing business with the temple. In fact, one of them did not even enter the temple. “With his self-boasting move, Rao had shown a virtual hell to the pilgrims and common people passing through the route,” he remarked. The BJP state president also pointed out that Chief Minister used to refer to countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan in terms of hunger index in an attempt to degrade India. “Now, he is not taking their names, because these countries are now begging for money and food. He (KCR) has later started taking about China with regard to development; now it is struggling to overcome the Coronavirus pandemic. It clearly shows Rao’s words turn out to be a bad omen for any country which he says is progressing, Kumar said.

“I request him (CM) not to say any good word about India, because his words become a curse for the country,” he said. Referring to the Chief Minister’s criticism that the successive governments in the country could not design projects that could store 50,000 tmc of water, Sanjay said it was ridiculous on the part of KCR to talk about the National scenario, when he could not complete the projects that could utilise even 50 per cent of the water allocated from Krishna and Godavari rivers. He pointed out that the number of agricultural borewells in Telangana had gone up from 18 lakh in 2014 to 24 lakh at present. “If the BRS government has really provided irrigation to lakhs of acres in the last eight years, why would the number of borewells go up, instead of going down?” the BJP MP asked. The Senior BJP leader challenged KCR to prove that his government was providing round-the-clock power supply to the agriculture sector. “I shall prove that it is not happening,” he said. Kumar accused the state government of pushing the power distribution companies into deep debts due to non-payment of subsidies to the extent of thousands of crores. “If the money is not paid, the Discoms will become bankrupt. If the BJP comes to power, we shall reimburse all the dues,” he said. Reacting to KCR’s announcement that he would do away with Agnipath scheme for armed forces recruitment, the BJP state president said the scheme was the brainchild of late Bipin Rawat and wondered whether Rao was more intellectual than Rawat. “Forget about Agnipath.

Let the Chief Minister take up recruitment of police forces in Telangana. Because of its silly conditions, candidates are resorting to agitations and those who questioned him are being lathi-charged,” he alleged. On CM’s criticism of the Make In India slogan, the BJP Lok Sabha MP said there were many instances like Vande Bharat train, mobile phone manufacturing and Covid vaccine making which reflected the spirit of Make India. He also made fun of KCR’s hollow promises like 35 percent quota to women, implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme and nationalisation of loss-making industries. Sanjay reminded that Rao had failed to implement these promises in Telangana. The BJP state president reminded that nobody at the public meeting had spoken about the Ab Ki Baar Kisan Sarkar slogan and “It is unfortunate that the Telangana Chief Minister did not even raise the Jai Telangana slogan at the Khammam meeting.” He also found fault with KCR for deciding to inaugurate the newly-built Secretariat on his birthday. “If he has so much love for Dr B R Ambedkar, on whose name he had renamed the Secretariat, he should open it on April 14 coinciding with Ambedkar’s birth anniversary,” Kumar demanded.
