Mumbai, Sept 19 (Agency) Sony Entertainment Television’s reality quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, hosted by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, will present a special episode featuring music icons, Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam on Friday. Promising a memorable fusion of ‘sur aur gyaan’, it will celebrate the duo for their profound impact on the Indian music industry. They will join Bachchan for interesting conversations and intriguing gameplay as they champion the cause of the Smit Foundation. When asked about her favourite film by Big B, Shreya Ghoshal, who makes her debut on KBC 16, shared a nostalgic memory from her childhood in Rawatbhata, Rajasthan. She fondly recalled watching films on a VCR, with Khuda Gawah being the first movie she ever saw. She mentioned that both her family and the people in her neighbourhood watched it countless times, making it a film full of special memories. This conversation also inspired Shreya and Sonu to perform the title track from Khuda Gawah, paying tribute to the song from Bachchan’s film.
Moved by their sweet gesture, an elated Amitabh shared a fascinating behind-the-scene anecdote from the making of ‘Khuda Gawah’ in Afghanistan.He recounted, “During the shoot, many locals would gather and perform their traditional songs. One of these was a popular Afghan folk tune, and the production team, after hearing it, thought it would be perfect for the film. Filming in Afghanistan wasn’t easy — especially in Mazar-e-Sharif, where we shot a scene with horses. Large crowds used to gather there, and when I asked if they were watching the shoot, I was told they weren’t just spectators. They had come to extend their hospitality, offering us places to stay since there were no hotels. Their kindness and generosity were truly remarkable.” In response, Shreya Ghoshal expressed her admiration for Big B, saying, “Sir, your name resonates across the globe. Every time we travel abroad, people immediately recognize you and speak of you with such reverence. It’s incredible to witness the respect and admiration you command.”
