Hyderabad, Jan 4 (Bureau) Tollywood actor and National Awardee Allu Arjun, an accused in the tragic death of a 35-year-old women in a theatre stampe in the city during the premiere of premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ last month, has been granted regular bail by a court here on Friday. The Nampally court here had earlier reserved the order for today after hearing arguments from the lawyers of the actor and the police. The actor, arrested on December 13 in connection with the tragic incident and was released a day later after securing interim bial from the Telangana High Court which was set to expire on January 10. Granting the regular bail on condition, the court directed the actor to furnish two sureties of Rs 50,000 each. The court also instructed the actor to appear before the investigating officer on every Sunday for a period of two months or till filing of the charge sheet, whichever is earlier. The petitioner shall cooperate with the investigation and he should not leave the country without prior permission from the court.
Allu Arjun, who was named as accused no 11 in the case, had earlier filed the regular bail petition in court. He appeared through video conference before the court on December 27. In the incident, a 35-year-old woman died and her eight-year-old son was injured on December 4. Following the incident, the city police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under different sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station based on a complaint lodged by the deceased woman’s family. Allu Arjun and the makers of Pushpa 2 had earlier announced a compensation of 2 crore to the family of the child. While 1 crore was given by Allu Arjun, Mythri Movies and director Sukumar gave 50 lakh each. The compensation was handed over to the family by film producer and chairperson of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, Dil Raju.
