About 37 films selected for 14th International HALF Festival

Palakkad, Aug 9 (FN Representative) About 37 short films from India and abroad will be screened at the 14th International Haiku Amateur Little Film (HALF) Festival organised by Insight the Creative Group at Palakkad. This time, the fair will be held online on September 21 and 22, 2024. The films qualified for screening are 25 films in the ‘5 Minute’ category and 12 films in the ‘One Minute’ category. The film selected by a three-member jury consisting of experts in the film industry will be awarded the ‘Golden Screen’ award in the ‘five minute’ category and the ‘Silver Screen’ award in the ‘one minute’ category. The Golden Screen Award consists of a trophy designed by eminent sculptor V. K. Rajan with a cash award of Rs 50,000 and a citation. In the same category, five runner-up awards will also be given, with each receiving a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a certificate.

The ‘Silver Screen’ award consists of a trophy designed by V. K. Rajan, Rs 10,000 in cash, and a citation. Apart from films from India, films from countries like Moldova, Hong Kong, and Kuwait will be screened in the competition section. Films from Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Poland, Germany, Chile, Colombia, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Serbia, Austria, Russia, the USA, Singapore, and Japan will be screened in the non-competition section. As usual, after the screening of each film, there will be an open forum discussion between the filmmakers and the audience as a special feature of this festival. Delegates who pre-register for the festival will have the facility to interact with the filmmakers in real time. In addition, the public can use the facility to watch the festival live for free on Insight’s website wall.
