Thane, Mar 21 (Representative) A 47-year-old woman was strangled to death allegedly by unidentified people in her flat in Dombivli town of the district. A case under section 302 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against unidentified killers at the Vishnu Nagar police station, police said on Saturday. The victim, Aarti Arun Sapkal, was found murdered late on Friday night, after her relatives’ calls went unanswered, so they went to her home and saw her lying dead.
She was strangled with a saree and the body bore injury marks also. She worked as a waiter in a bar at Kalyan prior to lockdown but then she lost her job and therefore, she was selling fish in the locality where she lived. The probe into the crime was on, sources added.
