Nakodar,Apr 20 (Agency) Two travel agents, including a woman, have been booked for allegedly duping two Nakodar residents of Rs 2 lakh on the pretext of sending them abroad. The Station House officer (SHO) Jatindar Kumar said that the accused have been identified as Gurmit Singh and Aman, residents of Bhawani Garh in Sangrur.
SHO said Harprit Singh, a resident of Mohalla Jimmi Palce and Dalbir Singh, a resident of Ashok Vihar , Nakodar, complained to Jalandhar (Rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) that they had paid Rs 2 Lakh to the accused for facilitating their migration abroad. However, the accused neither sent them abroad nor returned the money. SHO said a case under section and 420 (cheating) and 120 –B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Act.
