Aurangabad, Jul 25 (Agency) An Assistant Superintendant Engineer and senior woman clerk of the Aurangabad Irrigation Department were arrested on Sunday for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. The duo erring officials have been identified as engineer Mansukh Bavaskar and Sanjivani Garje.
According to the ACB, both the accused sought the bribe from the employee of same department who had applied for transfer to the Jalna office. Based on the complaint, a trap was laid and the accused clerk was nabbed red-handed while taking the money at Mansukh’s behest, ACB stated. A case against them has been filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act with the Vedant Nagar police station, it added.
