Patna, 5 Aug (Agency) Altogether two people were arrested and 262 cartons of foreign liquor loaded on a truck was today seized in Baunsi near Gurudham on Bhagalpur-Dumka highway of Banka district. According to a report from Banka quoting Excise Superintendent Arun Kumar Mishra an information was received that smugglers were transporting a consignment of liquor. On this basis, a truck was stopped and frisked near Gurudham on Bhagalpur-Dumka highway.
During the search, 262 cartons of foreign liquor were recovered from the truck. Ankit Kumar, resident of Beni village of Samastipur district and truck driver Mohammad Irfan, resident of Sakra Faridpur village of Muzaffarpur district have been arrested in this connection. The consignment of the liquor was being transported from Giridih in Jharkhand for its delivery to one Pintu Kumar Mahato of Vaddadiha village under Patepur police station area of ??Vaishali district . The arrested people were being interrogated.
