Bhubaneswar, Jul 18 (Representative) The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch police has unearthed an inter-state gun trading racket with the arrest of two dreaded criminals and recovery of ten guns from their possession. Crime Branch ( STF) SP Tejeswar Patel said the STF personnel arrested the two accused from Khurda- Ranpur border on Saturday while they were negotiating a deal to sell the illegal guns. He said the STF personnel found ten guns which included five pistols and as many SBML guns and eight live cartridges packed in two gunny bags from the two criminals identified as Basanta Moharana of Ranapur and Krushna Chandra Srichandan of Khordha town.
Mr.Patel said the two accused had criminal cases against them pending at some police stations in connection with illegal gun trading. The STF personnel have also seized a motorcycle and other incriminating materials from their possession. The STF SP said a case under the Arms Act has been registered at Jankia police station and further investigation into the incident is on to find out the involvement of other people in the interstate illegal gun trading
