Nanded, Sep 6 (Agency) Two persons were sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment after being convicted in a 2011 cheating case, stated an order copy here on Monday. The duo convicts have been identified as Balaji Gunaji Khandare (32) and Deepak Sinh Thakur (30). According to the prosecution, the duo along with one Gurmeet Singh Tamana (46) procured a vehicle loan of Rs 1.80 lakh from a local finance company. Later, the company found that the accused had deceptively taken a loan for a four-wheeler while purchased a two-wheeler.
Subsequently, a case under the IPC section 420 and other relevant provisions was filed and a chargesheet was submitted before the court in the year 2012. Based on eight testimonies, Additional Chief Justice M B Kulkarni pronounced Balaji and Deepak guilty while acquitted the third accused. The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on both of them, prosecution added.
