Jammu, Apr 21 (Agency) Police on Wednesday arrested a trucker with contraband of poppy straw in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police Team led by Inspector Chanchal Singh, Station House Officer, Police Station Udhampur under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan DySP Hqrs. Udhampur laid a naka at Jakhani naka point for checking. During checking, one truck was intercepted and subjected to thorough search.
During search, 100 kg of poppy straw was recovered and the driver identified as Karanpreet Singh of Village Machwara Rahian, Ludhiana was arrested on spot and the vehicle was also seized. A case under relevant sections was also registered and investigation started.
