TN Minister arrest by ED : Stalin warns BJP not to taunt DMK

Chennai, June 15 (FN Bureau) A day after the arrest of Electricity MinisterV.Senthilbalaji by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a moneylaundering case, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K.Stalin on Thursday warned the BJP not to taunt DMK andsaid they too knew all kinds of politics. “This is not a threat… It’s a warning”, Mr Stalin said in a video whichwas released to the media. He said the BJP was doing politics using the investigating agencieslike ED instead of facing them politically. “BJP’s way of politics is to arrest opposition party leaders usingcentral agencies like ED and CBI. Several leaders, including Manish Sisodia (AAP), Congress leader DK Shivakumar and P Chidambaram,Sanjay Raut have been treated the same way”, he said.

Alleging that raids won’t happen in BJP-ruling states, the Chief Minister wondered why there was no action by the central agenciesduring the 10-year AIADMK regime from 2011 to 2021. Stating that due legal process was not followed in the arrest ofhis Cabinet colleague, Mr Stalin said Mr Senthilbalaji, being aMinister, was treated like a ‘terrorist’ by the ED.He said the DMK would not be cowed by such intimidatory politicsof the BJP. Having faced such harassments in the past, ‘We (the DMK) will notbent down, but stand up and face it”.
