Three held for possessing illegal wildlife claws

New Delhi, July 18 (Agency) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested three persons for allegedly possessing illegal wildlife claws and 26 tiger and leopard claws were also recovered from them. A case was registered against three accused and others. It was alleged that a network of inter-state gang was involved in illegal trafficking of wildlife material, said the CBI.

The accused have been identified as Pinter Patel, a resident of Jaipur; Paramjeet Singh, who hails from Delhi and Ashok Parekh, Jaipur, Rajasthan. CBI in association with the official of Wildlife Crime Control Bureau conducted searches at Delhi and recovered 19 of leopard/tiger claws from the accused. Further searches were conducted at certain places in Jaipur which resulted in the recovery of 7 of tiger/leopard claws, said CBI. The accused were produced before the Court in Delhi and remanded to Police Custody.
