Three drug peddlers arrested in Baramulla

Baramulla, May 3 (Agency) Jammu and Kashmir police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband in this north Kashmir district, a police spokesman said Monday evening. He said police established a checkpoint at Sheeri Market in Baramulla during which three persons riding a scooty were intercepted. During their search police recovered 150 grams of charas from their possession, he said adding all the three identified as Mohammad Amin Sheikh, Nisar Ahmad Parray and Sajad Ahmad Malla all the residents of Kitchama Sheeri were arresed.

Scooty used in the commission of crime has also been seized. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been taken up. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
