Telangana Police in forefront in using Technology for NexGen Policing: DGP

Hyderabad, April 25 (Bureau) Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) M Mahender Reddy on Monday said that the state police was in the forefront in using Technology for NexGen policing. The Industry and Department of Police interaction meet, first of its kind, was organized by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) an apex Chamber in the state here. Delivering his keynote address as the Chief Guest Mahender Reddy said “Hyderabad has to be safe and secure if Telangana has to be safe. We are proud to say that Telangana police is always adopting new & latest technology to be prepared for NexGen policing. We have a friendly proactive Government which has Law & Order in the state as its priority, he said. In fact we still remember the day, when Telangana State was formed in 2014, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao called a meeting of the Police department and guided us to ensure safety of every citizen irrespective of their origin, caste and creed.

The DGP said the state cannot prosper without proper enforcement of Law & Order and added that Telangana state has the best surveillance system in the country with more than 9 lakh CCTVs ( 7 lakh in Hyderabad alone) installed in the state. We use the latest technology like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality, Data analytics and solve sensational cases within 24 hours. We learned and imbibed the latest technology from Industry partners, Reddy said Industry in Telangana has been our greatest collaborator in teaching things. I am sure these meetings will go a long way in ensuring systems are in place and works for the benefit of the society”. Earlier, in his welcome address, K. Bhasker Reddy, President, FTCCI said “This first of its kind meeting with the Police department has been envisaged to show our gratitude keeping in view the important role they play in our smooth running of business operations, ensuring employee safety all the times. This was more evident during the last two years of pandemic where the Police department extended full support in smooth running of Business operations without any hindrances. Also this meeting is aimed to recognize the importance of collaborative approach between the Industry & Law enforcement departments”, he added. Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh Bhagwat said “In crisis we all come together. The police salute many helping hands during Covid who came forward to help all including migrant workers and our personnel. Our employees were offered food and water during covid times by communities.

We at Telangana police are working towards connecting all industries with our command center for better coordination, help and enforcement of Law & order”, he added. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Raveendra said “Proud to be part of Telangana police which is in the forefront of adapting latest technology. Hyderabad is becoming a global city. We need to be more proactive and intelligence led to govern multicultural societies with gender sensitivity. He said the Telangana Government is investing heavily in upgrading police resources. We constantly learn from Industry the way to treat citizens sensitively and to use technology for betterment. We expect Industry to share Knowledge, Resources and Technology with us”, Raveenra added. Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand said “We at Telangana are the first in the country and in the world to establish a Security Council for better networking and collaboration between Industry, communities and Law enforcement departments. We all need to cooperate and collaborate for a better society”, he said. The interactive meet organized by FTCCI was attended by Industrialists from Telangana region and police officials.
