Hyderabad, Nov 10 (FN Agency) A day after Telangana High court allowed cops to continue their investigation against the three accused arrested for allegedly offering huge sums of cash to four TRS MLAS to switch parties, the government on Wednesday constituted a “Special Investigation Team (SIT)” in public interest to carry out proper investigation in an expeditious manner in the case. All the three accused — Simhayaji Swamy, K.Nanada Kumar and Ramachandra Bharati-, are currently in jail. The accused were arrested on October 26 from the Moinabad farm house of TRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy, who had alerted the cops. The accused were caught while they were negotiating the alleged deal with Rohit and three other MLAs – G Balaraju, R. Kantha Rao and B Harshavardhan Reddy at the farmhouse. Director General of Police M.Mahendar Reddy informed that Pilot Rohit Reddy, Member of Legislative Assembly, Tandur gave a witten complaint to Moinabad SHO against certain persons, said Ravi Gupta , Principal Secretary, Home (Legal), Department said in its GO released here Based on the complaint, a case was registered under section 120-B, 171-8 R/w 171-E, 506 R/w 34 IPC and Sec. 8 of Prevention ofCorruption Act, 1988 at Moinabad Police station and investigated into..
The DGP also informed that, since the case is sensitive, high profile and sensational in nature and as it involves investigation in multiple dimensions, which requires thorough scientific and evidence based investigation in an elaborate manner it requires officers with experience and requisite expertise with specific skill sets to carry out investigation, the GO said. The DGP has therefore requested the Government to constitute a SIT in public interest to carry out proper investigation in an expeditious manner. After careful examination of the proposal of the DGP, the Government constituted a 6-member SIT Committee headed by Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V.Anand, the GO added. The other members in the SIT committee are — Ms. Rema Rajeshwari ( SP, Nalgonda), Kalmeshwar Shingenavar ( DCP, Crimes, Cyberabad); R.Jagadishwar Reddy (DCP, Shamshabad, Cyberabad); N. Venkateswarlu (S.P., Narayanpet); B. Gangadhar (AC) and Laxmi Reddy (SHO, Moinabad Police Station, Cyberabad. Further, during the process of investigation , the STT may co-opt any other Officer/officers as necessary and complete the investigation expeditiously.
