New Delhi, Sep 20 (Agency) Delhi Police on Monday held a robber and recovered cash, documents, mobiles and motorcycle from him. The accused has been identified as Azhar Ali (19), a resident of Chawri Bazar, who has a previous police record in six cases of snatching and thefts registered at Daryaganj, Kotwali, Kalindi Kunj, Chandni Mahal, Shaheen Bagh, Mahindra Park and Crime Branch Police Stations. On September 8, a complainant, Gaudi Lal Mukhiya, who hails from Bihar, stated that he had received Rs 5,200 as a salary from his employer and he was going back to his house after his job at around 10:00 pm, when he reached near petrol pump at Rajender Market near Tis Hazari, suddenly two men came from behind and one of them choked his neck while another robbed his cash, ATM Card, Aadhar Card, documents and valuables and both fled away.
During the probe, police took technical help and CCTVs were scanned to find the possible routes of the culprits. On Saturday, Police got secret information that the accused possibly involved in the said robbery was roaming in the area near Tis Hazari, who was trying to sell the stolen articles to the passer by. Acting on the information, cops laid a trap near the alleged place and apprehended Ali. During questioning, he disclosed that earlier he used to commit crime alone, but two months ago, he met with a man after that both started committing crime together.
