Aurangabad, Mar 23 (Agency) An Additional Tehsildar has been arrested here for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakhs, stated the Anti Corruption Bureau on Tuesday. The erring revenue official has been identified as Kishor Deshmukh. Quoting the aggrieved party, a sand contractor, the ACB said that Kishor demanded a bribe of Rs 4.70 lakhs in lieu of sending a false report to the police regarding the condition of the impounded sand vehicles.
Based on the allegation, a trap was laid in front of the MTDC guest house and the accused was caught red-handed in late night on Monday, the ACB said. A case has been registered against him at the city’s Vedanta Nagar police station, it added.
