Nurmahal, May 17 (Agency) The police on Monday busted a gang of cheaters and arrested four of its members. SHO GS Nagra said that the accused have been identified as Nita alias Rajni Mahant of Gurdasspur, Jagdish Kumar of Nakodar and his wife Kiran and Sahil of Nakodar. Jagat Mohan Sharma of Nurmahal complained to the police that the accused purchased clothes from his shop twice in the months of March and paid Rs 50000 through cheque of Union Bank which proved fake and thus cheated him, he said in his complaint that the accused cheated many other shop keepers of Nurmahal and Nakodar.
Mr Nagra said that some cloths and a golden ornament was recovered from their possession and a case has been registered against the accused and their accomplice Kala of Bir Pind village in Nakodar adding that ASI Paramjit Singh is investigating further.
