Properties over Rs 1.73 crore found during raid at the premises of Minister Janak Ram’s OSD

Patna, Nov 26 ( Agency) The sleuths of special Vigilance unit of Bihar Police recovered properties more than Rs 1.73 crore from the premises of the mines and geology Minister Janak Ram’s Private Secretary Mrityunjay Kumar and his woman friend collected by misusing his post as public servant. SUV official sources said here today that the raids were conducted simultaneously in Patna, Katihar and Araria based premises of Mrityunjay Kumar his brother Dhananjay Kumar and his friend Ratna Chatterjee who was dismissed from the post of CDPO following corruption charges.

The sources said that Mrityunjay Kumar converted his black money into white with the help of his friends and relatives. According to the source disproportionate asset case for Rs 1 crore 73 lakh 4922 was registered against Mrityunjay Kumar. Wife of Mr Kumar died in 2013 during pendency of the divorce case. During raid Rs 3 lakh in cash, 30 gold biscuits were found from the house of Ratna Chatterjee in Katihar . It was also revealed that heavy transactions were made in between the accounts of Mr Kumar and Ratna Chatterjee who was dismissed from the post of cdpo on September 9 2011 after she was arrested by the Vigilance while taking bribe. Mr Kumar was looking after Ratna Chatterjee’s personal expenditures and was also bearing the construction expenditures of the house of Ratna Chatterjee. Ornaments worth Rs 45 lakh ,3 LIC policies with Rs 40000 monthly premium each and several other documents were recovered during the raid at Katihar based residence of Ratna Chatterjee Mr Kumar had also paid Rs thirty three lakh for the flat purchased in Siliguri for Ratna Chatterjee where she owns a shop in planet Mall and and also owned a plot for Rs 32 lakh near Loyola High School in Patna. It may be recalled that the Delhi police had arrested Bablu Arya the personal secretary of the Minister for getting prepared fake card for Parliament building in Delhi.
