Police seize 14.2 kg pseudoephedrine drugs worth Rs 5.5 cr in Hyderabad

Hyderabad,Nov 11 (Agency) Police seized 14.2 kg of Pseudoephedrine drugs in the North zone of the city on Thursday. City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar told reporters that the value of the seized drugs was estimated to be Rs.5.5 crore in the International market while it will be Rs 40 lakh in the Indian market. He said that the Begumpet police, responding to a report from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, inspected the International Courier agency where the drugs were concealed in 22 photo frames to be sent to Australia.

The culprits used fake Aadhaar cards to smuggle drugs, he said, adding two persons from Tamil Nadu were suspected to be involved in the racket. In another case, three peddlers were arrested and recovered 110 drug pills from them in the Asifnagar area of the city.
