Puducherry, Oct 20 (Agency) Police registered a case under sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, against a cricket coach here two days ago. According to police,a private cricket association was giving cricket coaching to students in a school ground at Muthirapalayam. The Cocach Thamarakannan, a senior cricketer from Sorapet area here, was coaching the students. It was alleged that Thamarakannan gave sexual torture to a minor girl who came for cricket coaching and the girl lodged a complaint with cricket association authorities.
However, since, the association failed to initiate any steps against Thamarakannan, the girl lodged a complaint with the Mettuppalayam police station. Police registered a case against Thamarakannan and investigation is on. Meanwhile, police also registered cases against four officials of the cricket association as they failed to initiate any action on the complaint of the girl.
