Bhopal, Dec 24 (Agency) It was a double whammy for thousands of Madhya Pradesh’s residents who – while battling the novel coronavirus pandemic – lost approximately a whopping Rs 39 crore to online fraudsters in 2020 and 2021. The sum thus lost since 2017 is to the tune of Rs 52 cr, the Assembly was informed on Friday. In a written reply to Mr Yashpal Singh Sisodiya (ruling Bharatiya Janata Party), Home Minister Narottam Mishra said, “A total 3,191 cyber-crime cases were registered since 2017 and 2,193 solved. The maximum 723 such first information reports were filed in 2018.”
