One inter-state drug peddler held: 40 kgs of Ganja seized

Hyderabad, Oct 19 (Agency) The city police has arrested one inter-state drug peddler and seized 40 kgs narcotic contraband drug Ganja worth about Rs 4 lakh. Police also seized one cell phone from his possession. On credible information, the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone team along with Afzalgunj Police apprehended most wanted notorious inter-state drug peddler Vanapalli Naga Sai (24) of Narsipatnam, Andhra Pradesh near Central Bus station Auto parking point when he was waiting to deliver Ganja to drug trader in Hyderabad clandestinely and gain illegal money, a police release said on Tuesday. The accused is native of Narsipatnam, Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh and main supplier of Ganja. He is running a Catering business for his livelihood.

To gain easy money illegally, he came into contact with local Ganja suppliers, Cannabis cultivators in the limits of Visakhapatnam rural area and supplying to known local agents of Hyderabad and other state agents. He used to purchase Ganja Rs 1500 per kg from Cultivators and local agents and selling the same to traders for Rs 5,000 to 10,000 or depending on customers demand. During the investigation, it was noticed that he has several contacts with Narcotic drug ( Ganja ) traders in around Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and other states and supplying Ganja to them clandestinely and illegally with easy money. The accused person along with seized material was being handed over to SHO, Afzalgunj Police Station for further investigation and they were booked under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
