Srinagar, Apr 5 (Agency) Police on Monday claimed to have arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) belonging to militant outfit The Resistance Front (TRF) and recovered incriminating material from him in the apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla. A police official said that following specific information, a joint checkpoint was established by police, 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 179 battalion of CRPF at Model Town crossing in Sopore.
“One hard core OGW of TRF, identified as Ihsaan ul Haq Khanday, was intercepted at the checkpoint. Incriminating material, including letter pad of TRF Outfit, was recovered from his possession,” he said.
He said the accused was immediately taken into custody. “A case FIR NO 82/2021 U/S 13 ULA (P), 506 IPC has been registered and further investigation is going on,” he said. He said more arrests could happen in coming days in the case.
