NCB seizes drug 505 gm Mephedrone drug worth Rs 1cr

Mumbai, Oct 17 (Agency) Narcotics Control Bureau, which has come into spotlight as well as in controversy after the cruise drugs bust case, has seized Rs one crore drugs, an official source said here on Sunday. The source said, an accused Ejaz Yakub Shaikh, a resident of JJ Marg Road, has been arrested for alleged possession of the contraband. The arrested man has no previous crime record and procured the drugs from a Nigerian national, they said.

Acting on the intelligence input, the NCB sleuths had conducted raids in Nalasopara and Vasai area in neighbouring Thane district. During the raids, Mephedrone drug weighing 205 grams was found near the national highway at the Chinchoti Phata in Vasai East while 300 grams MD was seized in Nallasopara. According to the source, the drugs, valued at Rs one crore in the international market, was meant for smuggling in Mumbai.
