Nadaun police arrest accused & recover stolen ornaments with five hours of complaint

Hamirpur (HP), March 11 (Bureau) In a major achievement of the Nadaun police, it arrested a woman of Bhadrol village on Thursday for allegedly stealing seventy grams of gold ornaments worth two and half lakh rupees from the house of Baldev Chaudhry of the same village within five hours of lodging the complaint. SP, Hamirpur, said after registering a complaint under sections 454 and 380 of the Indian penal code, a team of the Nadaun police led by SI, Yog Raj fanned out in the area and recovered the ornaments with five hours from a woman who had stolen those, while the owner of the ornaments had gone to his fields for doing agriculture work. She said the police were interrogating the arrested woman for the crime.

The SP congratulated the Nadaun team for solving the crime in such a short time and that with recovery of all the stolen ornaments. Earlier, Baldev Chaudhry, the complainant tried on his own to find out the thief but failed and ultimately he lodged a complaint with the police and was successful in knowing about the thief who was said to be his neighbour.
