Mumbai Dec 4 (Representative) Mumbai Police have arrested 206 drug dealers and seized drugs worth over Rs 48 crores from them so far this year, an official said on Monday. The Mumbai police registered around 98 cases in connection with such crimes. “206 drug dealers were arrested in 2023 so far and drugs valued at Rs 48 crores seized from them,” the official said. The Mumbai Police registered around 65 cases which relates to the possession of the drug mephedrone (MD).
It has also arrested around 168 drug dealers and seized MD worth over Rs 30 crore from them. Meanwhile, city police arrested four accused and seized drugs worth Rs 12 lakh from Andheri and Jogeshwari. Mumbai Police’s Bandra Unit conducted the raid on Saturday (December 02) in Gaondevi in Andheri’s Dongri. The police arrested three persons who had 30 grams of mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 6 lakh. Another raid was conducted in Jogeshwari West on Sunday and one person was arrested and 30 grams of MD costing Rs 6 lakh was recovered from him. The accused are in police custody.
