MUDA revokes 48 plots, no link to CM scam

Bengaluru, Dec 4 (FN Agency) In a decisive move, Karnataka’s Urban Development Secretary, K Latha, has ordered the annulment of 48 residential plots allocated by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) in December 2023. These plots, located in Datta Gallalli Layout, were approved during a MUDA general meeting but are not connected to the controversial “50:50 scheme” currently under investigation by the Lokayukta and Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Officials clarified that the cancelled plots were unrelated to the scheme, which has come under scrutiny following allegations that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, BM Parvathi, received 14 plots in prime areas of Mysuru through it. An FIR has been filed against Siddaramaiah, Parvathi, and others in connection with the case. Parvathi has distanced herself from the controversy by requesting MUDA to cancel her plot allocations. The cancellation of the 48 plots follows allegations of rule violations in the approval process, with claims that the then-MUDA Commissioner, GT Dinesh Kumar, sanctioned the plots despite legal and procedural discrepancies. The government’s decision to revoke the allotment, issued by Latha, highlights its commitment to addressing procedural lapses and ensuring transparency in urban development amidst ongoing investigations.
