MOU with Swiss organization on education is a scam: Jana Sena

Kakinada, Oct 20 (Agency) Jana Sena party political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar on Thursday alleged that the YSRCP government which failed to pay teachers’ salaries properly, has entered into agreement with Switzerland’s IB organisation landing in a scam. Manohar told media persons here that despite higher officials warning that the agreement with Swiss IB would destroy the school education system as a whole, the Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy was adamant and paid a deaf ear to them. There is a “big scam” behind the agreement, he alleged. For implementing the IB education system in over forty thousand schools making agreement to pay Crores of rupees is certainly detrimental to the state interests, he said. He pointed out that The IB education system was there only in two hundred schools in the country.

Making agreement with 1008 schools paying Rs.13 lakhs for each school would be nothing but waste of Rs.4,000 Crores of exchequer’s money. Despite legal and monetary experts advising against, the government going ahead with signing the agreement involved a big scam ‘he added. Manohar further questioned as to why the state government opted to change only one thousand schools in to CBSE syllabus though the central government gave the opportunity to change all the schools from state syllabus to CBSE syllabus. He said most of the schools in the state lack basic infrastructure facilities and the government should answer why it was in a hurry in signing MOUs with other countries without bestowing its attention on giving a face lift to all the schools.
