Thane, May 8 (FN Agency) The city police have arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly duping investors of lakhs of rupees by wooing them to invest in crypto currency. On April 27, 2022, the Khadakpada police had registered a case of cheating against a firm, Mytoken Wallet Trading Pvt Ltd, and initiated a probe, police said.
The accused, who had floated the company, reached the victims through various social media platforms and wooed them to invest in crypto currency and get returns of 15 per cent to 150 per cent. When a victim who had invested Rs 7,58,560 did not get back his invested amount, he filed the complaint with the police. Acting on a tip off, a Crime Branch team reached Gwalior and arrested accused Gautam Shyamprasad Pandey from there. He was produced before a local magistrate, who remanded him into police custody till May 11, sources added.
