Mumbai, Feb 18 (Agency) Alibaug police have stopped Shiv sainiks from entering the premises of Alibaug Gram panchayat office, after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirit Somaiya reached Korlie Village, officials informed on Friday. Somaiya said that h had come to Alibaug to get information about 19 bungalows, which are allegedly in the name of Rashmi Thackeray, wife of State Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. He had earlier, allegedly charged that Rashmi Thackeray had purchased 19 bungalows in Alibaug which are all benami properties allegedly brought from corruption money. Somaiya also showed the papers related to property tax paid by Rashmi Thackeray.
Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut here refuted these charges, asking Somaiya to show the bungalows in Alibaug. Raut also asked why Somaiya went to the Gram panchayat office on Friday to inquire about the bungalows. Shiv sainiks on Friday gathered outside the Gram panchayat office in Alibaug, demanding the removal of Somaiya from the office, and threatened to enter the office. Police intervened and stopped the Shiv sainiks from doing so. Later the BJP leader left the Gram panchayat office.
