New Delhi, June 26 (Agency) A Delhi Court on Wednesday sent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to Three-day CBI custody soon after the probe agency arrested the AAP leader inside the Rouse Avenue Court complex in the alleged liquor policy scam. Special Judge Amitabh Rawat accepted CBI’s application and sent Kejriwal to 3-day remand of the probe agency for questioning. The court declined Kejriwal’s plea seeking 24 hours to read the CBI allegations against him.
Senior Advocate Vikram Chaudhari, appearing for Kejriwal, said that the agency’s move to arrest the Delhi Chief Minister at this point showed it had acted in most biased manner as it had already quizzed him in Tihar jail. Chaudhuri said, “This case has been pending since August 2022 and my client was called as a witness… He appeared and, for nine hours, assisted the investigating agency. Not a single notice (from the CBI) has been received since then. How did they shift my name from a witness to an accused… it is a long distance to cover… It is a poor citizen versus might of the State,” Chaudhuri contended.
