J&K ANTF arrests truckers with 6000 bottles of intoxicant syrup bottles

Jammu, May 25 (Agency) The sleuths of Jammu and Kashmir Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) on Tuesday arrested a trucker and his helper with 6000 bottles of intoxicant syrup bottles here on city outskirts. Senior Superintendent of Police, J&K ANTF Vinay Kumar said that on specific input of a truck coming from Delhi towards J&K illegally carrying Scheduled Drugs, teams swung into action and laid nakas at various places.

“The team was able to intercept the truck and on thorough search, 6000 bottles packed in 50 boxes of Scheduled Psychotropic drug Chlorophenamine Maleate Codiene Phosphate (locally called Corex) were recovered,” he said. Driver of the truck identified as Karan Kumar of Balachor and Co driver Yashpal of Village Karawar, Balachor, District Nawasher, Punjab were arrested on the spot, he added. A case has been registered under relevant sections and investigation started. “More arrests into the case are expected,” he said. ANTF has appealed to the general public to share more such information of drug dealers so that the menace is uprooted from the society.
