Hyd Cyber Crime Police recover and refund Rs 1.05 cr to cyber fraud victim

Hyderabad, Nov 4 (Agency) The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have successfully recovered and refunded Rs 1.05 crore to victims, who were defrauded by cybercriminals under the pretext of investments in trading with promises of high returns. According to a police statement here on Monday, a 52-year-old private employee from Hyderabad lodged a complaint reporting that cyber fraudsters had deceived him with promises of profits from trading in an institutional account on “Lazardoosvip.Top.” This deception led the victim to transfer approximately Rs. 1,22,26,205 to bank accounts provided by the fraudsters.

Acting on the complaint, the Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad, registered the case under Cr.No.1665/2024, citing sections 66(C) and 66(D) of the IT Act and sections 319(2), 318(4), 338, 336(3), and 340(2) of the IPC. Inspector of Police K. Madhusudhan Rao and his team, under the supervision of ACP Cyber Crime Unit Hyderabad, Shiva Maruthi, and ACP Chand Basha, with the leadership of DCP Cyber Crimes, D. Kavitha, undertook swift action. The team issued notices to bank officials, arranged for the freezing of fraudulent accounts, and advised the complainant on filing a petition in court to reclaim the funds. Following court orders, Rs 1.05 crore was refunded to the victim’s account. This successful recovery reflects the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police’s dedication to combating cyber fraud and assisting victims in regaining their losses.
