Haryana: Heroin worth Rs 40 lakh seized in Nuh, two held

Chandigarh, Dec 17 (FN Agency) Haryana Police has arrested two persons under NDPS Act in Nuh district and recovered 402-gram of heroin worth Rs 40 lakh from their possession. Stating this here on Friday, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that in the initial probe the accused revealed that they had to supply the contraband in Taoru area in Nuh. The accused – Abdul Gaffar of Hamid colony and Abdul Rab alias Sain of Shahpur Nangli were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance case.

The crackdown was made by a team of Anti Narcotic Cell after a secret input about the smuggling of drugs by a person was received. After the input, a police team established a naka on Taoru-Salaka road and arrested the accused riding on a motorcycle identified as Abdul Gaffar. When frisked, 16-gram of heroin was seized from his possession. During interrogation, the name of another accused Abdul Rab was revealed, who was also arrested with 386 gm of heroin. The total seized heroin of 402-gram quantity has a price of Rs 40 lakh in the international market. The accused will be produced in the court and will be taken on police remand for more in-depth interrogation. The further investigation into both the cases is on.
