GHMC officials held for graft in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Oct 19 (FN Agency) Town planning Supervisor Uma Devi and Section writer Laxman Yadav (outsourcing) of GHMC were trapped red handed by the ACB officials here on Thursday. She demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from a complainant for the official favour of granting permission for the construction of building at Vanasthalipuram. The bribe amount, accepted by accused officer Uma Devi through the section writer, was recovered from his possession, ACB said in a statement here. The accused officers performed their duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

Both were arrested and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases court at Hyderabad. In another case at Bhupalpally in the state, District Industries Centre General Manager Gangadhara Srinivas was caught by ACB, Warangal, at Hanmakonda when he demanded and accepted bribe amount of Rs 1500 from the complainant for doing official favour to conduct physical inspection of the vehicle and other things. The amount was recovered from the possession of the 58-year-old accused officer, who was arrested and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases court at Hyderabad.
