Chatra, Aug 3 (Agency) Police today arrested four smugglers alongwith nearly 800 grams of brown sugar from Dariyatu village under Sadar Police Station area in this district. From the arrested nearly Rs 2 lakh in cash, a car and a motorcycle has been seized.
Addressing a press conference at the Sadar Police Station SDPO Avinash Kumar said that Chatra SP Rishabh Jha had received a tip off that near the collectorate some people are on a lookout and smuggle brown sugar after which the action was taken. He said the price of the recovered brown sugar in the international market is estimated to be around Rs one crore. The arrested have been identified as Jitendra Kumar, Rahul Kumar Sao, Balram Dangi and Deepak Yadav.
