New Delhi, Feb 9 (Bureau) Six people, who were allegedly involved in a fake visa racket, were arrested from Delhi here on Tuesday. Fake stamps of Embassies of different countries, especially European countries, equipment, 225 passports and a large number of fake visa stickers were recovered from them, police said on Tuesday. Delhi Police Special Cell unit busted the racket who had their office in East Delhi’s Shakarpur area.
The accused have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar, Lakhvinder Singh, Rajveer Singh, Anil Paul, Dushyant and Rajkumar. The police got some inputs that an active racket was operating from Delhi who were indulging in the preparation, procurement and arrangement of fake visas on Passports and further facilitation of the same to their contacts as well as several VISA aspirants of different countries, who applied for the same through their agents, said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delhi Police Special Cell.
It also came to light that these fake documents could be used by anti-national elements for escaping after committing subversive activities in India. On Friday, police received information that Sanjeev Kumar would meet his contacts at Janakpuri Institutional area near Gas Godam. Acting on this information, a trap was laid and three people, Sanjeev Kumar, Lakhvinder Singh and Rajveer Singh, were apprehended. On this basis, a case under appropriate sections of law was registered and investigation initiated.
On the basis of information provided by the accused, Anil Paul was apprehended on Sunday from Laxmi Nagar. During investigation, Paul led the police team to his office situated at Laxmi Nagar from where his associate Dushyant was arrested. Huge incriminating recoveries were made on their instance including Fake VISA Stickers of different countries like Canada, United Kingdom, Russia, Spain, France and Netherland.
A total of 225 passports of different countries, includes 90 Indian Passports, 124 Nepalese Passports and 11 Bangladeshi Passports, different Holograms used on VISA sticker of different countries, Rubber Stamps of Embassies of different countries including stamp making machine were recovered. During further investigation, on Monday, Rajkumar who was working with Dushyant was arrested from Laxmi Nagar.
