Ex UP Board director suspended for paper leak

Lucknow, April 26 (Agency) The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday suspended Vinay Kumar Pandey, five days after he was sacked as the Director of Secondary Education over the a question paper leak scandal in the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education. Additional Chief Secretary Secondary (Education) Aradhana Shukla said that Pandey was suspended on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for negligence in discharging his official duties.

Pandey was removed from his post on April 21 and sent as Director of Literacy Alternative Education, Urdu Oriental Languages. In his place, the charge was entrusted to Additional Project Director Sarita Tiwari. Pandey was given the charge of the post of Director in 2018. He was promoted to Director in 2021. For the last five years, the government was successful in making the UP Board a copyless image but this year the paper leak incident happened. The English paper was leaked in 24 districts.
