Nagpur, March 31(Agency) Enforcement Directorate (ED) team conducted searches at the residence of noted advocate Satish Uke in Maharashtra’s Nagpur in the early hours of Thursday. The ED sleuths were conducting searches at the lawyer’s residence at the time of filing of this report. However, the exact reason for the ED’s raid has not been ascertained yet. Advocate Uke had challenged electoral affidavit of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and now Leader of Opposition(LoP)in State Assembly Devendra Fadnavis.
The lawyer had also dug into the sensational case of death of CBI Judge Justice Loya, who died under mysterious circumstances in Nagpur. He had also filed a petition in the Bombay High Court demanding official compensation for the family of the late Justice Loya, on the basis of government documents showing that the judge was in Nagpur for government work at the time of his death. Recently, he represented the MPCC President Nana Patole in filing a Rs 500 crore defamation case against IPS officer Rashmi Shukla in the phone tapping case.
