Hyderabad, May 24 (Agency) The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Hyderabad unit, arrested an individual and seized 31.42 kgs of Alprazolam (a psychotropic substance under the NDPS Act), worth Rs 3.14 crore, in Telangana. Based on specific intelligence, the DRI conducted a raid on a clandestine makeshift laboratory involved in the manufacturing of Alprazolam, a psychotropic substance under the NDPS Act.
The laboratory was discovered in a remote poultry farm located amidst agricultural fields on the outskirts of Vattem village (Bijinepally Mandal), Nagar Kurnool District of Telangana, according to a press release issued by the DRI on Wednesday. The operation resulted in the seizure of 31.42 kg of finished Alprazolam (with an approximate value of Rs. 3.14 crores in the illicit market), along with in-process material, machinery, and other equipment used in the manufacturing process. The individual involved in the manufacturing of Alprazolam has been apprehended, and further investigations are underway, stated the press release.
