New Delhi, Jan 30 (Agency) A Delhi Court on Monday reserves its order on the bail application of Shankar Mishra who was arrested for allegedly urinating on a woman passenger in Air India flight between New York and Delhi. After dismissal of the bail application by Metropolitan Magistrate, Mishra moved the bail application in Sessions Court which was fixed for hearing during the day. Counsel for Mishra submitted before the court that investigation in the matter has been completed and no fruitful purpose would be served by keeping the accused behind bar. The prosecution opposed the bail application by submitting before the court that the accused is non-cooperative and has threatened the complainant and India has been defamed internationally due to the incident.
Delhi Police requested the court the bail application of the accused may kindly be dismissed in the interest of justice. It is alleged that Mishra had urinated on a 70 years old woman in an intoxicated condition in the business class of an Air India flight on November 26 last year. Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) police station has registered an FIR No 6 under various sections of Indian Penal Code against Mishra and arrested him from Bengaluru.
